The Society of Saint Gregory is holding a residential Summer School exploring and considering ways of responding to the Pope’s call to build synodal communities in our own parishes from the perspective of liturgy and music.

Across the world, dioceses have been engaging in a process of consultation and listening in preparation for the celebration of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in October 2023. The process is challenging.

“A synodal church is a listening church, aware that listening is more than hearing. It is a reciprocal listening in which each one has something to learn.”  Pope Francis, 17 Oct 2021

What does a synodal Church look like?  What changes do we need to make in our own lives and in our communities to shape a Church that is open to journeying together with others?  Are we really a listening Church or a Church that just hears?  Our Summer School will explore and consider ways of responding to the Pope’s call to build synodal communities in our own parishes from the perspective of liturgy and music.
