Bishop Patrick announced new parishes in the Diocese of Nottingham through the extinctive union of existing parishes
I Decreed the erection (through the extinctive union of the former parishes, listed) of the new Parish of Saint Alban, Charnwood, taking the entire territory, and patrimony, and care of souls of the former parishes of Sacred Heart of Jesus, Loughborough; and Saint Gregory, Sileby. I have appointed Canon Paul Chipchase Parish Priest of this new parish, in succession to his previous appointments as Parish Priest of the two parishes extinctively unionised.
On the same date I Decreed the erection (through the extinctive union of the former parishes, listed) of the new Parish of the Lincolnshire Martyrs, Scunthorpe, taking the entire territory, and patrimony, and care of souls of the former parishes of Holy Souls, Scunthorpe; and Saint Bernadette, Scunthorpe; and Saint Norbert, Crowle. I have appointed Canon Matthew Jakes Parish Priest of this new parish, in succession to his previous appointments as Parish Priest of the three parishes extinctively unionised.
On the same date I Decreed the erection (through the extinctive union of the former parishes, listed) of the new Parish of Saint Francis of Assisi, Sherwood, taking the entire territory, and patrimony, and care of souls of the former parishes of Holy Trinity, Newark; and Saint Joseph, New Ollerton; and that territory and patrimony and care of souls of that portion of the former parish of Our Lady of Victories, Southwell, with Saint Anthony, Calverton, which was associated with the church of Our Lady of Victories. I have appointed Canon Michael O’Donoghue Parish Priest of this new parish, in succession to his previous appointments as Parish Priest of the three parishes extinctively unionised. I have further appointed Father Matthias Ejukwe as Assistant Priest of this new parish, in succession to his previous appointments as Assistant Priest of the former parishes.
On the same date I Decreed the erection (through the extinctive union of the former parishes, listed) of the new Parish of Saint John Paul II, Nottingham, taking the entire territory, and patrimony, and care of souls of the former parish of Good Shepherd, Arnold; and that territory and patrimony and care of souls of that portion of the former parish of Our Lady of Victories, Southwell, with Saint Anthony, Calverton, which was associated with the church of Saint Anthony. I have appointed Canon Philipp Ziomek Parish Priest of this new parish, in succession to his previous appointment
