NOTTINGHAM, 6 November, 2017. On a bright and sunny afternoon, Mgr. Patrick McKinney, our Bishop, offered Mass for those deceased among the clergy and consecrated religious of the Diocese. Mass was attended by almost fifty of the clergy of the Diocese and by a large congregation which included members of several of the Orders and Congregations that live and work in the Diocese. Following Mass, the Bishop led many of the priests down into the cathedral crypt to pay his respects to and pray for the souls of his venerable predecessors, stopping along the way to bless and honour the tomb of the Venerable Sr. Mary Potter, foundress of the Little Company of Mary. The assisting clergy and religious afterwards joined the Bishop and the cathedral clergy at the cathedral hall for lunch, which was an excellent ending for one of our most important calendar events of the year.
